Meet our new ladies and gentlemen!

This was our son’s first trip to Tractor Supply Company and, being a two month old, he slept through the whole thing! He was not at all bothered by the extremely loud peeping that was coming from the little box that I held on my lap the whole way home.

We picked up four Amberlink pullets, four Red Sexlink pullets, and two Plymouth Barred Rocks. It seems that our Rocks may actually turn out to be roos, but we’ll know for certain when they are a tad older. Either way, don’t you just want to reach through your computer screen to snuggle those little fluffs?

Chris worked late last night setting up a large pen for our other two girls. As much as they love free ranging, we decided that giving them a very large pen was better than letting them get picked off one by one. It turns out that we have a coyote afoot. Up until the night before we still had Uno, Blondie, and Jane. Now it’s just Blondie and Jane. Our flock is in desperate need of revitalization this spring, but we definitely learned a lot from our failures last year.

Have you got some new chicks for your flock this year?

Best,

Sarah
